Description

This Brass Peacock Hanging Diya is a handcrafted brass oil lamp, also called a Thookku Vilakku or hanging lamp. A finely carved peacock stands on top with its tail curled up. Below it, a ring of diya bowls holds oil or ghee, and a small carved bell hangs from the bottom. The whole lamp hangs from a strong brass chain.

Hang it in your pooja room, near the main door or in a temple style corner of your home. Fill the bowls with oil or ghee and light it for daily pooja, Karthigai Deepam, Diwali, Murugan pooja and festival days. The golden brass brings a warm, pure feel. It is also a lovely gift for housewarming, wedding and Navaratri.

Care Tip: Hang it on a strong hook fixed to a strong ceiling or beam. Never leave a lit lamp alone. Wash with warm water and a soft cloth, rub gently with tamarind or lemon to bring back the shine, and dry well.
