Description
This Brass Mariamman Vel Vilakku is a handcrafted brass oil lamp, also called an Amman Vilakku. A tall back stands behind the deep bowl. It shows the face of Goddess Mariamman with sun ray points all around and a Vel (spear) on top. The Vel is a holy sign of Amman and is believed to protect the family. The bowl is shaped like a leaf and has a spout for the wick. Fill it with oil or ghee and light it for your pooja.
The shining golden brass looks bright and gives a warm, pure feel to your pooja room. Light it on Fridays, in Aadi month, on festival days and for special poojas. It is also a lovely gift for housewarming and wedding.
Since it is handmade, small changes in finish and carving are natural and add to its charm.

Care Tip: Wash with warm water and a soft cloth. To bring back the shine, rub gently with tamarind or lemon and wash again. Dry well before keeping.
